Position Algorithm – Devs S01E01

This interface shows a series of screens showing how an algorithm can be used to predict the position of a nematode

The initial state is first shown before the prediction algorithm begins with the animal on the left and the state predicted on the right. Since it hasn’t started this is just a flat line

Once the algorithm starts it initially is showing a high correlation of 99.91% between the prediction and the animal. The blue lines are showing that that element of the prediction is correct.

To demonstrate this the prediction is then overlaid on top of the live animal position

Unfortunately after a few seconds the algorithm breaks down, showing a 86.07% correlation

And then after a few more seconds it has entirely diverged from the animal, showing all lines in red.
